Why test and tag?
Electrical testing and tagging is now the law.
In February 2012 legislation was introduced to ensure all businesses must test and tag their electrical appliances and leads for safety and legal compliance. All services for Test and Tag Morningside are fully compliant with electrical AS/NZS 3760:2012 in-service safety inspection and testing of electrical equipment standard.
What do you need to test?
All electrical appliances and flexible leads eg extension leads, RCD’s, electric power tools, computers, cement mixers, monitors, vacuum cleaners, fans, air compressors, forklift chargers, power boards, desk lamps, home appliances and much more.
These items may be:
New equipment placed into service for the first time.
Is already in service.
Has been serviced or repaired.
Is returning to service from a second hand sale.
Is available for hire.
Onsite, each item is inspected for wear and tear and then tested with a PAT (Portable Appliance Tester) to ensure safety. All tests are recorded and a comprehensive report on the testing is provided and we will automatically return when your next test and tag is due to keep your business compliant.
We also provide microwave radiation leakage testing.
Microwave radiation is odorless and invisible. It’s leakage be caused by food particles in the seal and slamming the oven door. A microwave leakage meter detects radiation leakage from the oven.
How do you know if your equipment is faulty? Electricity is a silent invisible hazard.
