What Is Test and Tag?
Test and Tag is the process of checking the safety of portable electrical appliances. This is achieved by visually inspecting an appliance for damage, followed by electrically testing the device with a portable appliance tester to ensure it is safe to use.
What is the purpose of test and tagging?
The primary reason behind doing testing and tagging is to ensure the safety of the people in the workplace coming into contact with an unsafe appliance, while also minimising the risk of an electrical hazard.
By regularly completing test and tag, your business will remain compliant with Queensland electrical safety regulations, and it will minimise the risk of electrical shock to workers. The testing will only be completed by a trained and competent person, we will firstly inspect the equipment, then electrically test, and tag it with a label.
A compliance report will be sent to you and a record of these tests will be kept as part of your overall OH&S risk management documentation by us for seven years. You will never have to worry about your business being compliant in the future as we will send you a friendly reminder before your next testing date is due to book a time that suits you to complete your follow up tests.

SERVICE WORK:
- Testing & Tagging at least 12 Monthly, or connected to a Safety Switch
- Portable RCD: Inbuilt test button at least 3 monthly
- Portable RCD: Operating Time Current Test at least 12 monthly
- Fixed RCD: Inbuilt test button at least 3 monthly
OFFICE WORK:
- Testing & Tagging at least 60 Monthly
- Portable RCD: Inbuilt test button at least 3 monthly
- Portable RCD: Operating Time Current Test at least 24 monthly.
